Chapter History

It all started in 1988 when a group of Human Resources students decided to create an HR student association, who could help members have a direct connection to professionals.
SHRM Rio Piedras is a non-profit organization who has helped over 100 students have a direct networking to professionals in the HR Business in Puerto Rico.
Members of SHRM Rio Piedras, are students who are willing to take their HR studies into practice and outside of the classroom. Members have the benefit, of participating in mentoring programs, internship opportunities, company visits, resume writing and interviewing workshops and many more!
Over the last couple of years, SHRM Rio Piedras has been selected as one of the top Human Resources Student Association in Puerto Rico. This is, because of the many times it has won the Superior Merit Award and last year winning the Oustanding Superior Merit Award, which was given in the summer of 2013 in Chicago, Illinois.
